4D Printing Technology: Principles, Materials, and Application: Nature-inspired structures with self-morphing, stimuli-responsive, reconfigurable, and self-healing capabilities are now possible with the use of smart materials and recent developments in additive manufacturing/ 3D printing technology. In response to an external fillip, 3D printed smart materials may transform their form, size, or defining qualities called 4D printing. The term "4D printing" refers to the potential of a 3D printed part to reorganize and reconfigure over time to better suit the user's needs.

The book explores how the concept of 4D printing arises from the existing 3D printing technology, its detail classification, different programming methods involved in 4D printing, 4D printing for different materials categories, characterization techniques with relevance to 4D printed parts, detail application landscape and, at the end a summary of one decade of 4D printing technology.
