Hints for Printing the Posters on the SCS Plotter
Since printing a PowerPoint based poster with our plotter at Fraunhofer SCS, which is very picky when it comes to correct file formats etc. (no it doesn’t like PowerPoint and PDF either), is not very intuitive, we have put together a little tutorial for you, so that you don't waste time uselessly:
- Use a PowerPoint template that already has A1 dimensions
- Create your poster.
- Use Windows to export your PowerPoint slide: make sure that a PowerPoint slide is exported with a high resolution of 300 dpi by adding a key with the correct value into the registry [1].
- Save / export the poster slide as TIFF in PowerPoint
- Save the TIFF file on a USB stick
- Switch on the plotter (located in the material store on our floor in the NOP 93), insert the USB stick into the plotter, select USB as source and select the TIFF file.
- Change the settings so that "ISO A1" is selected under Size
Good luck to you!
