About the book
The current book examines the pharmacological effects of flavonoids on a number of neurological disorders, as well as recent possibilities and future prospects. Parkinson's disease (PD), Alzheimer's disease (AD), Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and Huntington's disease (HD) are the most concerning neurological disorders owing to a lack of effective therapy and a substantial global increase in afflicted patients. According to the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) 2016, neurological disorders are the second leading cause of death and are anticipated to rise as the world's population ages. Drug development for neurological diseases is a tough endeavour for two reasons: most medications cannot penetrate the blood-brain barrier, and drugs used to treat such problems have side effects.
This book will be helpful in encouraging the researchers to develop new approaches to design innovative herbal-based drugs that will be safe, economical and reach to the largest populations. The book's cumulative information about the chemistry and mechanism of action of flavonoid will be valuable not just for neurological disorders, but may also open up new pathways for several other diseases. The readers of this book will be capable of understanding the usefulness of flavonoids against neurodegenerative disorders along with latest trends and future prospects as well.
