Submission Guidelines
All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference.
Each submission will receive at least three expert reviews through a double-blind review process.
1. Paper submission guidelines
Full papers submitted to GamiFIN 2023 should be between 7 and 10 pages, including the list of references. All submissions will undergo a double-blinded peer-review process. Therefore, the authors are required to remove any information that could give an indication of authorship.
In the online submission system you will be asked to list the most relevant themes of your paper as keywords.
Full paper submissions must conform to the CEUR 2-column template available at: http://ceur-ws.org/Vol-XXX/CEUR-Template-2col.docx. Only the Word template is available at this moment.
At the conference, presenters of accepted academic papers will have approximately 15 minutes for the presentation including the discussion.
Previous GamiFIN proceedings are available at https://gamifinconference.com/proceedings/.
2. Short paper guidelines
As of with GamiFIN 2023, we now accept short research paper submissions. The work submitted to this category should be further developed than a poster but not constitute a full paper. We expect short papers to be between 2000 and 3000 words in length, excluding references. Short papers may be late-breaking work, early stages of a full paper, or self-contained complete studies that are narrower in scope or implications. Therefore, short papers should have a structure similar to full papers. If you would like to submit an early work-in-progress, please consider a poster submission.
Submissions should follow the same 2-column template as full papers: http://ceur-ws.org/Vol-XXX/CEUR-Template-2col.docx
3. Poster submission guidelines
A poster can be a short description of a smaller research contribution, work-in-progress project, student project or results and allows you to gain valuable feedback from the experts in the field of gamification. The best poster of the conference will be awarded at the end of the event. Authors of full papers, whose paper submissions were not accepted this year may wish to consider submitting their paper in this category.
Submission guidelines : The initial submission of your poster is a short manuscript of your work, maximum 3 pages long, including the list of references. The poster submission will go through a double-blind review process. After the notification of acceptance, you will receive specific layout instructions for the visual poster that one of the authors will present at the conference. Ideally the final poster is a visually effective summary of your research, which highlights the context of a full academic paper (background, methods, results, data, discussion in brief).
Please submit your short manuscript in PDF-format!
Poster submissions must conform to the following template: http://ceur-ws.org/Vol-XXX/CEUR-Template-1col.docx
Initial poster submissions not following the provided template will be rejected.
The work presented has to be original, novel, well written and scientifically ensure the validity of the presented results. In the online submission system you will be asked to list the most relevant themes of your extended abstract as keywords.
The poster should be a stand alone piece of work, which does not require further explanation or an introduction from you, as the posters will be showcased during the event.
The posters or the initial submissions will not be included in the conference proceedings.
4. Doctoral consortium submission guidelines
We have developed the GamiFIN doctoral consortium to support and guide the doctoral students working on topics related to GamiFIN themes (see top of this page). The GamiFIN doctoral consortium is a place for doctoral students to present their work to a panel of leading scholars in the area of gamification and other accepted doctoral consortium students. The panel of experts will give each student feedback on their work and help guide them forward in their studies. Based on the experiences of previous GamiFIN doctoral consortiums, the consortium also provides peer support and a community of students interested in similar topics.
To participate in the Doctoral Consortium, please submit a summary of your work (submission details below) and your CV by February 20th.
Please submit the following documents in PDF-format:
1. A five-page summary* of your doctoral research project including e.g.:
- The current status of your work
- The motivation that drives your dissertation research or what motivated you to begin
- Research objectives/goals/questions
- Key concepts or terminology that frames your research
- Theoretical framework(s) used in the research
- Hypothesis/thesis and/or problem statement
- Your research approach and methods
- Results to date
* References are not included in the page limitation.
2. Your CV, describing your academic activity and current stage of your doctoral research project.
Please submit your documents in PDF-format!
Summary documents must conform to the following template: http://ceur-ws.org/Vol-XXX/CEUR-Template-1col.docx
