HKAECT International Conference 2024 “Transcending Boundaries in the Digital Age: Teaching, Research and Practice”

In this digital age, boundaries between various fields are becoming increasingly blurred. Education and communication are no longer confined to traditional classroom settings or face-to-face interactions. With the advent of the internet and various digital platforms, individuals can access information and connect with others from anywhere in the world. These developments have had profound implications for education, communication, and society as a whole. The HKAECT International Conference 2024 aims to explore the ways in which innovative digital technologies have transformed education and communication, and how they continue to shape our world.
Submission Guidelines
We cordially invite presentation proposals (500 words) and full papers (10-20 pages) that explore the following topics, but are not limited to:
- The impact of digital technologies on education, including online learning, blended learning, and MOOCs
- The role of digital technologies in communication, including social media, digital journalism, and virtual communities
- The challenges and opportunities of digital technologies for marginalized groups, including people with disabilities, those living in rural areas, and low-income communities
- The ethical, legal, and social implications of digital technologies, including issues related to privacy, security, and surveillance
- The potential of digital technologies and a wide range of teaching pedagogies in promoting social change, including activism, civic engagement, and political participation
We encourage submissions from scholars and researchers in various fields, including education, communication, social sciences, and humanities. We welcome both theoretical and empirical papers, as well as case studies, policy analyses, and critical reviews.
Presentation Abstract Submissions (Deadline 1 February 2024)
The Conference welcomes 500-word extended abstracts to be submitted to EasyChair (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=hkaect2024). In the abstracts, you should clearly state research objectives, research questions, hypotheses (if any), research methods, findings, and implications/contributions. To ensure academic quality, all abstracts will go through a blind peer-review process. Subject to authors’ successful registrations to the Conference, accepted abstracts will be included in a conference program booklet and you will be invited to make presentations at the Conference. The maximum number of an author’s submissions is two, irrespective of whether he or she is the first author of each manuscript or not.
Full Paper Submissions (Deadline: 30 December 2023)
For English papers: Accepted abstracts for presentations are invited to extend into a full paper. Submissions of your manuscripts in 10-20 pages should be uploaded to EasyChair (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=hkaect2024). All full papers submitted will be subject to a blind peer-review process. Upon acceptance, and subject to authors’ successful revision enhancement based on the reviewers’ comments, your manuscripts will be included in a new volume under the Educational Communications and Technology Yearbook series to be published by Springer and indexed by Scopus.
