The 2nd international conference on materials for sustainable development and technologies (ICMSDNT) - 2024 will be held during April 24-26, 2024, at the Department of NanoScience and Materials, Central University of Jammu, Jammu, India. This conference has been organized to bring together leading National and International scientists from academia, research institutes, and industries to exchange new ideas and share their research in emerging areas in line with the theme of the conference. It also provides a premier interdisciplinary platform for young researchers, practitioner and educator to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends and concerns as well as solutions adopted in the field of materials science.
This conference is programmed to offer a comprehensive session addressing the recent advancements and new strategies for the development of materials to meet the potential future challenges across the globe, including the search for the renewable energies for sustainable development and new technology for the protection of the environment. ICMSDNT -2024 is expected to be an exciting and informative event for all attendees from India and Overseas.

About the University
The Central University of Jammu was established on August 08, 2011 by Parliament of India through the Central Universities Act (2009). Currently, Central University of Jammu hosts nine school including School of Basic and Applied Sciences, School of Engineering, School of Humanities and Social Services, School of Life Sciences, School of Languages, School of Education, Management, Social National Security Studies and School of Knowledge Management, Information and Media Study. These schools have both graduate and postgraduate programs along with Ph.D. programs. The University is committed to making special provisions for integrated and interdisciplinary courses, educating and training human resources for the nation's development, to initiate appropriate measures for promoting innovation in teaching and learning and to pay special attention to improve the social and economic conditions and welfare of the people, especially about their intellectual, academic and cultural development.
About the Department
The Department of Nano Science and Materials is the most prestigious department of the University, established in 2016 for developing and undertaking research on materials and their uses. It holds the privilege of being the only Nanoscience and Materials research department in Jammu and Kashmir region. The department is inherently an interdisciplinary department that draws from practitioners in all application areas, as well as study of fundamentals of materials science. The department offers PG and Ph. D courses in Material sciences. It is blessed with seven dedicated, devoted and committed faculty with vast experience in academia and research. The department's focus of research and development activities is towards the rational design of materials and processes, engineering of desired material structure and properties, fabrication and synthetic process development, integration of materials in devices, characterization of materials and devices, and development of prototypes. The department has received several research projects from various national funding agencies like CSIR, DRDO, DST, UGC, IUAC etc., which enabled the establishment of various instruments such as Scanning Electron Microscope, Electrochemical Work Station, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) , UV-Vis Spectrometer, Photo Luminescence, Electro Luminescence, Gas Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry (GC–MS), Source Meter etc.
