IMOVICCON 2023: International Moving Image Cultures Conference 2023 Universitas Multimedia Nusantara Tangerang Selatan, Indonesia, October 31-November 1, 2023

3rd IMOVICCON 2023 (International Moving Image Cultures Conference) is an academic space for students, lecturers, researchers, practitioners, and moving image enthusiasts to exchange and share academic experiences and disseminate their recent research on all aspects of moving image cultures. This biennial conference is a collaboration between Film Department of Universitas Multimedia Nusantara and School of Design of Pelita Harapan University which aim to serve as a gathering of film academics, film students, practitioners, as well as film communities to present and discuss topics relating to : "the past, the present, and the future of moving images".

The 3rd IMOVICCON aims to celebrate moving images by looking at their past, present, and future. It’s necessary to examine the past, the present, and the future of moving images since the past can be used as a reflection site. The present tells how far we’ve come, and it is even more interesting to see what the future holds for moving image culture. Ever since the invention of the Phenakistoscope until the development of the Metaverse, moving image culture continued to evolve and became a huge inspiration for various research and publications. Its transdisciplinary nature also makes moving images approachable by every methodology available, making it possible to be explored and researched by multiple scientific disciplines.

Submission Guidelines

Abstract, full paper and paper presentations must be in English Writings.

Abstract : Consist of a short overview of the entire manuscript, purpose and importance, methods, main findings, and the implications of the research's findings. Abstract is written in English in 150 - 250 words, single spaced, in .do or .pdf format. Keywords are written in one line, 3 to 6 words separated by semicolon (;) for each of the keywords. 

Abstract are sent electronically with subject heading IMOVICCON 2023 Conference Abstract_YourName. Please include your full name, discipline, institution and contact information.
