Machine learning is a branch of artificial intelligence focused on developing algorithms that enable computers to learn from data and improve their performance over time. It encompasses supervised learning, unsupervised learning, and reinforcement learning, with applications ranging from engineering and science to social sciences. In contrast, soft computing is a field that draws inspiration from human-like cognitive processes to address problems involving uncertainty, imprecision, and approximation. Soft computing includes techniques such as fuzzy logic, neural networks, evolutionary computing, and probabilistic reasoning. These approaches are particularly valuable in scenarios where traditional rule-based methods struggle, allowing for effective problem-solving in complex, real-world situations. Together, machine learning and soft computing contribute to the advancement of intelligent systems capable of adapting and making informed decisions in dynamic environments.
The primary aim of organizing an all India Seminar on Machine Learning and Soft Computing Applications in Engineering and Science is to foster a collaborative platform that brings together researchers, practitioners, and experts from diverse fields to share their latest advancements, insights, and experiences in the realm of machine learning and soft computing. The seminar aims to facilitate the exchange of cutting-edge knowledge and methodologies, providing a forum for discussing innovative applications and solutions in engineering and science. By bringing together professionals from academia, industry, and research institutions, the conference seeks to promote interdisciplinary collaboration, inspiring new ideas and approaches that can address complex challenges in these domains. Furthermore, the seminar aims to contribute to the dissemination of research findings, promote networking among participants, and ultimately accelerate the adoption and integration of machine learning and soft computing techniques into practical applications, thereby fostering advancements that have a tangible impact on engineering and scientific endeavors.
The objective of this seminar is to provide a vibrant platform for students, researchers, academicians and technologists to present and share their novel ideas and works in relevant areas in engineering and science. Contributions welcome on the topics of interest include but are not limited to

Submission Guidelines
Based on original contributions leads to innovations, plans for development, observations, findings, critical surveys, and case studies, which are invited for discussion in the National Seminar. Authors intending to submit a manuscript for the All India Seminar on ‘Machine Learning and Soft Computing Applications in Engineering and Science (MLSC-ES)’ are advised to adhere to the guidelines as mentioned below.
- The synopsis/abstract of the Paper within 500 words with a maximum of five keywords has to be submitted first and after acceptance of the same, the full text of the Paper has to be submitted.
- Domain experts will review Synopsis and the decision will be communicated to those authors whose synopsis is accepted.
- Full camera-ready paper should be prepared in line with the follows.
- Papers should be camera-ready in MS-Word format, not exceeding 3000 words in length excluding figures, tables, references and appendices.
- The language of the Publication is English. The mode of presentation should be in third person.
- The Template for preparation of article and the Declaration Form, (to be submitted by the authors duly filled in and signed for copyright purpose) is available with the link https://www.ieindia.org/webui/IEI-Activities.aspx#Call_Papers
- SI units should be used wherever possible. Other units, if used, should be given only in parentheses preceded by SI units.
- Mathematical symbols should be typed and care should be taken to differentiate between similar characters (e.g. 1 and I), upper and lower case letters and superscripts and subscripts.
- Lengthy mathematical proofs and derivations and extensive test data are discouraged. If absolutely essential, they should be given as appendices.
The authors are requested to submit the synopsis/abstract through the Easy Chair platform (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=mlsces2024) on and before 15/03/2024. Any query related to the submission or Conference can be written to Convener: Dr. Dakshina Ranjan Kisku, FIE (E-mail: drkisku.cse@nitdgp.ac.in)
For more details and updates, please visit the conference page: (https://easychair.org/cfp/MLSC_ES2024)
The proceedings will publish all the abstracts accepted for presentation at the seminar. High quality papers from accepted list will be recommended for submission to SCOPUS/ESCI/SCI/DOAJ indexed journals. Authors of accepted list can directly submit their Full Camera Ready papers to the recommended journals for publication once the conference is over.
