About Book:
Neurological illnesses have a large influence on our society. CNS disorders, particularly neurodegenerative disorders, are a serious public health concern that necessitates a considerable amount of attention from researchers to protect people from them. These diseases are caused by a wide range of problems with the way neurons communicate with each other. They include neurodegenerative and metabolic diseases that are controlled by neural connections.
Various treatment procedures have been implemented over the last few decades, but their therapeutic success has been insufficient, resulting in only partial symptom relief. The blood-cerebrospinal fluid barrier (BSCFB), and the blood-brain barrier (BBB) protect the CNS from harmful substances and pose significant challenges in delivering drugs into the CNS for the treatment of CNS complications such as Parkinson's disease, brain tumors, Alzheimer's disease, multiple sclerosis, Huntington's disease, encephalitis, and so on. Nanomedicines can efficiently deliver therapeutics to the brain, implying favorable outcomes in the treatment of neuron-related illnesses.
Molecules can be nanoengineered to perform a variety of functions, including crossing the BBB, targeting specific cells or signaling pathways, responding to endogenous stimuli, acting as a vehicle for gene delivery, and supporting nerve regeneration and cell survival. The role of nanocarrier systems such as Nanodiamonds, liposomes, micelles, solid lipid nanoparticles (SLNPs), dendrimers, and nanoemulsions in the delivery of various neurotherapeutic agents has been discussed in this book, as well as their mechanism of action and nanoformulation of different neuroprotective agents and nerve growth factors.
This book will shed light on nanomedicines' great potential for effectively delivering treatments to the brain, revealing promising outcomes in the treatment of neuron-related disorders. This book will also recognize the tremendous distance between the bench and the bedside, as well as the limits of present tactics.
