The UK Speech workshop aims to bring together researchers in the UK and Ireland Speech Science and Technology community, both in academia and industry, to share information about ongoing research activities, to meet old friends and make new ones. This edition of UK Speech is being organised by The Centre for Speech Technology Research (CSTR) at the University of Edinburgh, with collaboration from the UK Speech Community.
Submission Guidelines
We welcome 1 page abstracts (pdf) describing completed or ongoing work in speech technology and/or related areas (e.g. speech production/perception, natural language processing, etc). The work does not have to be entirely novel as long as it is recent. This is an opportunity to share papers recently presented (e.g. at Interspeech, ICMI) or that you are hoping to get accepted (e.g. ICASSP, ICPhS) with other UK & Irish Speech Researchers.
Please ensure your submission includes Title, Author(s), Affiliation(s) and abstract. Extended abstracts are encouraged (e.g. including pictures, key results tables/figures) but not required. There is no fixed template, though authors are encouraged to use the standard Interspeech template (1 page total, i.e., including tables/figures/references, either 1 or 2 columns).
As in previous years, we expect review to be "light touch" so feedback will usually be limited to an acceptance or rejection. Preference will be given to researchers who are based in the UK and Ireland, and to encouraging diversity in the across the workshop presentations.
You can find examples of previously accepted abstracts here: UK Speech 2019
Venue
The conference will be held in the Informatics Forum at the University of Edinburgh. At the moment, we expect the conference will primarily take place in-person with hybrid participation limited to the oral sessions and keynotes.
