Abstract

This article analyzes and discusses the philosophical arguments that constitute the theoretical basis for the Eugenio Trias’ approach of music as sensorial gnosis, with which the Spanish philosopher lays the foundation for an original anthropology of music. This anthropology would refer to an ontology of music within the frameworks of his philosophy of limit. Finally the article shows the absence, in his production, of a systematized theory of imagination capable to sustain his discourse, but it points to a possible reconstruction throughout Trías' own texts.
