Objective: This study analyzes the applicability of this method in these patients in emergency services, as a suitable place for their implantation. Methodology: This is an integrative literature review. The technique of material analysis was indirect documentation through bibliographical research and web collection. The selected material was described in summary table. Results: Despite the benefits of VNIPP, it is little used in emergency services due to the overload of the team, lack of protocol studies and high initial cost to acquire equipment. Conclusion: This method of choice can be indicated as long as the team is trained and the patient is properly monitored so that in case of failure, orotracheal intubation can be performed and invasive mechanical ventilation instituted. Keyphrases: Emergency Service, accute breathing insufficiency, non-invasive ventilation
