Abstract

Nanophotonics and electromagnetic metamaterials have witnessed remarkable advancements and transformations in recent years, driving innovation in various fields, including optics, materials science, and telecommunications. This abstract provides a brief overview of some of the most prominent emerging trends in these domains. Quantum Nanophotonics: The integration of quantum optics with nanophotonics has paved the way for quantum information processing, secure communication, and quantum sensing. Emerging quantum nanophotonic devices, such as single-photon sources and quantum memories, are expected to revolutionize the field. of 2D Materials in Nanophotonics: The incorporation of 2D materials, such as graphene and transition metal dichalcogenides, into photonic devices, has opened avenues for ultra-compact modulators, light emitters, and detectors, with potential applications in wearable and flexible photonics. These emerging trends in nanophotonics and electromagnetic metamaterials not only hold great promise for fundamental scientific research but also have a wide range of practical applications that will impact industries ranging from telecommunications to healthcare and beyond. Researchers and engineers in these fields are actively exploring these trends to unlock new possibilities and innovations.

Keyphrases: Electromagnetic metamaterials, Nanophotonics, Quantum nanophotonics
