This paper explores the utilization of blockchain applications as guardians of supply chain trust. Blockchain technology offers immutable ledgers, decentralization, and cryptographic security, promising enhanced transparency and integrity in supply chain operations. Through a comprehensive review and analysis, this study investigates the effectiveness of blockchain in safeguarding data and ensuring supply chain integrity in retail. The methodology involves examining current literature, case studies, and expert opinions on blockchain implementation in retail supply chains. Results indicate significant improvements in data protection, traceability, and overall supply chain efficiency. However, challenges such as scalability, interoperability, and regulatory compliance remain. Various treatments including interoperable blockchain protocols, scalability solutions, and regulatory frameworks are proposed to address these challenges. The discussion delves into the potential of blockchain to revolutionize retail supply chains while acknowledging its limitations and areas for improvement. By addressing these challenges and implementing appropriate treatments, blockchain applications can emerge as formidable guardians of supply chain trust, promoting transparency, integrity, and consumer confidence.
