Abstract

COVID-19 is caused by the coronavirus 2 (SARS-Cov-2) that may promote a severe acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), pneumonia and hypoxemia. Ultrasonography has been used for decades as a tool to detect biological tissues abnormality, although its B-mode imaging has only recently been used in lung exams. The aim of this paper is to report documents related to the use of ultrasound as a tool to evaluate COVID-19 during the first pandemics year. Lung ultrasound has been shown as an important tool regarding an early and reliable way to diagnostic lung symptoms of respiratory diseases and for patients’ follow-up.
